“Honestly, I couldn’t say enough about how incredible it has been to have Quinn as a therapist. I have had a really wonderful experience working with her and growing and learning. Therapy has been difficult for me. But it has also been really fulfilling. I feel much more in control of my responses to the unpredictability of life. I feel like I am able to assess how I’m feeling and what I need to do to take care of myself. I’m grateful for that and for having a therapist like her supporting and rooting for me.”

“Things that I love about Quinn being my therapist: You are extremely responsive and have even been available to me for quick check-ins at times when I needed extra support. You tell me the truth and push me to do better, not for anyone else, but for myself. Offering virtual sessions has made it possible for me to find a therapist who truly works for me as opposed to settling for someone just because that’s who is around. You taking on QTPOC pro-bono has given me the opportunity to prioritize my mental health regardless of being cash poor.”

“I found the self-care services very interesting. I wanted to participate in almost all the services offered. The itinerary had an early call time, but after getting out of bed it was refreshing to start the day with yoga/meditation.”

“I loved the self-care service options and the itinerary. If I hadn’t had a gel manicure earlier that week, I would have indulged in the free manicure. I honestly didn’ feel pretty enough for a photoshoot but regret not taking the opportunity to capture me as I was at that moment. I probably would be looking at the photos now and seeing beauty in my rare form. My favorite service was the reiki session and meditation. I need a little one-on-one with yoga but really enjoyed it despite my limitations.

“I really enjoyed all of the services and was grateful at how well thought out it was to have us decide what we wanted to do and when. I think that was an important part of recovery for us. I enjoyed each part! I think doing a meditation during self care for next years intensive could be really enriching.”

“This was a life-changing experience for me. Being surrounded by the people participating in and leading the intensive really shifted something inside of me. I left the intensive grounded and feeling less alone. I applaud everyone who was involved with this for their labor of love and will recommend this intensive to those I know could deeply benefit.”

“WOW! Thank you so much for this life changing experience! This was one of the best experiences I’ve had, seriously! I can’t thank you enough for this opportunity! I genuinely love and appreciate everyone involved in this healing process. I would really love to attend another codependency intensive retreat. Maybe a second level to this first one that goes deeper into the issues that came up during our sessions like body image, sex trauma, and relationships with black women.”

“This was such a rewarding and rigorous retreat. I’m so grateful to each instructor. Quinn did a phenomenal job organizing and thinking about how our personalities worked together and blended. The food was yummy too! I felt seen and heard and safe and cared for. I’m excited that more black women can participate in the future and care for themselves in this way! Y’all are amazing!”

“I could tell that everything was methodological. From the room assignments to the gift bags we received with the personalize note (good touch) made me feel like this was going to be a purposeful and intentional weekend. I personally would like to do more CBT because I’m action-oriented. And talking through things is helpful but when I’m in a situation I sometimes freeze. Everything was perfect this weekend! I left feeling fulfilled. Thank you Quinn, Chloe, and Melinda!”
