Kyle Melodie was born and bred in Brooklyn, New York, receiving her Bachelors of Business Administration with a focus on Human Resource Management from Bernard M. Baruch College, part of the City University of New York System.
She has resided in the Central Florida area for more than half of her life. She has experience in the non-profit management field, in the areas of direct client services, fundraising and administration, and provided non-profit fiscal and marketing oversight.
Kyle Melodie successfully performed the role of Director of Development for The Salvation Army of Orange and Osceola Counties for nearly fourteen years, with a fundraising record in 2021 of over $3,600,000, representing a 200% increase over the previous year. She started off 2022 with the award of HUD funding of over $2,500,000 in January 2022. Kyle Melodie’s passion is:” overseeing fundraising. . . which includes writing grants, researching foundation and corporate support, friend building, and overseeing or implementing other fundraising strategies, all of which establish a structure for effective financial support to provide people with the help that they need.”
Kyle Melodie’s current passion is supporting the provision of mental health therapy for marginalized communities, which includes the LGBTQIA+ community, Black women, Members of the First Nation, and people who are overcoming poverty.
Kyle Melodie is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) Central Florida Chapter, UCF Rosen College of Hospitality Management Advisory Committee, and is a proud Rotarian.
Kyle Melodie is also the fiercely proud mother of two adult sons who are FAMU undergraduates that are currently pursuing doctorate degrees in social work and Black history.
