As a Japanese woman, DMV native, and naturalized citizen, Yuri understands the unique challenges of multicultural populations and has a special interest in working with children, adolescents, teens, and young adults who are struggling with acculturation issues, interracial relationships, and racial trauma. In addition, Yuri has experience working with clients with anxiety and depression, and with those who are exploring gender identity, sexuality, and spirituality. Yuri emphasizes social justice and advocacy for all clients, recognizing how culture impacts the help that is needed and wanted for each unique individual. Her approach to therapy is to provide a safe, warm, and creative environment that will enhance nurturing and growth for all clients. Yuri is fluent in Japanese and currently working on completing her degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Northwestern University.
